What does AAKG stand for?
AAKG stands for Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate.
What is the difference between l-arginine and alpha-ketoglutarate?
L arginine is simply another name for the amino acid, arginine, which is a semi-essential amino acid. This means that it is not just found in foods, but also produced by the human body – in this case from glutamine via citrulline. The body uses arginine to produce biochemicals, enzymes and proteins.
AAKG, on the other hand, is a salt of the amino acid arginine and alpha-ketoglutarate, which have been bonded together. The two are often coupled and offered in nutritional supplements such as pre-workouts.
Many forms of arginine have been produced in order to improve effectiveness and absorption. Our AAKG is different to many 1:1 forms on the market as it offers AAKG with a ratio of 2:1. This means that our arginine alpha-ketoglutarate is made from two arginine molecules attached to one molecule of alpha-ketoglutarate.
Which foods are high in arginine?
Arginine is a semi-essential amino acid, which means that it can be found in your diet. Foods which contain arginine include meats, seafood, nuts and seeds, whole grains, and dairy amongst others. Arginine can also be found in numerous protein supplements in varying quantities.

- Contains Arginine and Alpha Keto-Glutarate
- Produced in a 2:1 ratio (Arginine and Alpha Keto-Glutarate)
- Arginine is an essential amino acid
Getting amino acids from your diet can be expensive and time-consuming — shopping, prepping meals, as well as cooking. Our AAKG is a convenient way of keeping your body topped up on arginine and alpha-ketoglutarate.
What are the benefits of arginine?
Amino acids occur naturally within protein, which helps to repair and build new muscle1 — an important factor regardless as to what your fitness goals may be.
Arginine is also a direct precursor of the biochemical, nitric oxide (NO). NO is a vasodilator, meaning it causes the blood vessels to expand. It is for this reason that AAKG has been added as a component to many pre-workout boosters and pump formulas.
What are the benefits of alpha-ketoglutarate?
Alpha-ketoglutarate (AKG) is a form of glutaric acid. It is a chemical found in the body, which is involved in the citric acid cycle. In the body, it is a precursor of glutamate and glutamine.
1. Protein contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass.

Best product I've tried.
I supplement this 1hr before workout and straight afterwards, great pump combined with creatine ethyl ester. Noticed a big difference in size of biceps and triceps, great stuff.... also 5g before bed on empty stomach to promote GH levels and 5g first thing in the morning which gives me more energy throughout the day. I found taking this with only water is the most effective way for fast guaranteed absorption. No taste so easy to drink. Fantastic product. Will be buying again.Goes Well With:Just water!!!! Don't take with high sugar drinks.

preworkout
hi I am not using arginine as one product. I am combining arginine with Beta Alanine and 200 mgrms of caffeine to make a preworkout solution. this is the cheapest way to make a preworkout drink. paying 50 euro for 30 servings of a branded preworkout or buying the ingredients that work and combining them and getting over 100 servings for what cost me 30 euro. unreal value.Goes Well With:water and dilute to give it a little flavour

You Have To Try This!
Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate is a product that I've been meaning to try for ages. What made me take the plunge and order it was watching a top bodybuilder endorse it's benefits on his YouTube channel. Now I'm not an idiot, I know these guys get paid top dollar from sponsorship, so I Googled the product and from seeing all the benefits in black and white, I knew I had to try this stuff. As soon as my order arrived I mixed 1g with MP's Creatine Monohydrate (I always take creatine pre workout) and headed down to the gym. The pump I got was incredible, my energy levels were at least 25% greater than usual, I eeked out 2,3 even 4 more reps than usual.. don't take this product with food you want it in your system as quickly as possible for maximum benefits..I highly recommend AAK...Goes Well With:Creatine Monohydrate and water

Quality, Purity
Great quality this product.. Arginine intake will give you better blood circulation, better pump and so-called vascular expansion (more nutrients will get where it is) This version of Arginine AKG (free arginine associated with alpha-ketoglutarate) will guarantee 100% absorption and gradual release) than the free form of arginine When should arginine be given? Before training and before bedtime (5g) I definitely recommend supplementing! Myprotein these raw materials are really clean and of good quality!

good for pumps
There seems to be a lot of placebo effect running wild throughout the reviews on here? People claiming its made them stronger given them more energy etc etc. Yes it is used in pre workout but only to increase blood flow to give for a better pump in the gym. To that effect this product does work. That said I have found it no better than just taking a pure L Arginine supplement as opposed to this 'designer' hybrid. Also price wise this is more expensive. I throw 5g in with my basic myprotein pre workout (as their more expensive pre workout only offers non optimal dosage of L Arginine)Goes Well With:water, or throw it in with your preworkout , mixes well

"I dont know if its the AAKG or a placebo effect, but taking this 30-45 mins before my workout enables me do carry out 2 more reps with ease, and lift 2-3kg more... will write another review when I have finished the bag!"
